oh I used to have creaky floor boards all the time in Boston. The only thing I could do that at least lessened the noise was big thick rugs over the main offending areas. They still creaked but at least I didn't hear them as badly...

Marlynn, There is a long rug in our hallway with one of those grippers underneath and I could swear that it creaks LESS than the rest of the house. I wish my roommate weren't allergic to dust and we could have big thick rugs... Thanks for stopping by!
